The Communicator

Along with other projects this quarter, I have also decided to take two credits to work with the college newspaper. Our paper here at Spokane Falls is called The Communicator. The first edition of the quarter was releaced this morning, I designed three of the ads that were in this edition. One of which was designed in a crunch, I only had an hour and a half to get it done, the client liked the work I had done and will run another ad in an upcoming issue.

The Next Internship

I have landed another Intern position with the USDA - Natural Resources Conservation Service. It looks like a great project I will begin it starting May 5th, I am looking forward to this cause I believe it will give me some great pieces for my portfolio.

Homecoming

Well guys Reality Check was a blast the ten professionals who critiqued my work all had helpful suggestions to help me improve the look and feel of my portfolio, once implemented I believe my portfolio will really stand out.

Also I was asked several times where I thought I would be headed after I graduate, what direction I want to go with my career. On of the places we toured was Digital Kitchen a firm that specializes in digital media.

I think that I would ether want to go into advertising or possibly digital media presentation.

This trip was really a lot of fun, I would not have missed it for anything.

Interesting Report

I went to the Ad-Fed luncheon yesterday and we were informed that the local designers and firms who won silver and gold at the Addys are doing good at the regional judging.

Just awaiting 12:00 to come around so we can leave for Seattle.

Off to Reality Check

Tomorrow afternoon the second year Graphic Design Students will head off to Seattle Washington for a weekend of fun.

It is time again for the Annual event know as REALITY CHECK. We will tour five firms in Seattle on Friday, then Saturday we will have some of our projects critiqued at a forum of industry professionals.

Those who are interested in the event should check back as I will try to update you with some audio posts through the weekend.
